LOUISVILLE, KY – Louisville-based Monty’s Plant Food Company will host a series of free seminars on rose care at the Louisville Zoo throughout the year.

The series will include four seminars to coincide with various key stages in rose gardens.  Each seminar takes place from 10-11 a.m.

Louisville, Ky. - Target Corporation presented a $2,000 donation check to the Junior League of Louisville (JLL) in support of Family Scholar House. Funds will provide kitchen appliances for participants of Family Scholar House (FSH) who come to cooking classes hosted bi-weekly at FSH by the Junior League.

Classes focus on teaching single parents how to cook healthy meals for their families while on a budget.

Gov. Beshear announces Unique Granite and Marble to expand manufacturing in Owensboro

FRANKFORT, KY – Governor Steve Beshear announced Unique Granite and Marble Inc. plans to expand manufacturing operations in Owensboro, creating 25 new, full-time jobs and investing $400,000 in the project.
“Unique Granite and Marble is a true small business success story, with an owner who saw a need in his community, began filling that need and is now looking to expand the company’s footprint,” said Gov. Beshear. “We’re excited to see these 25 new jobs and a $400,000 investment in the Commonwealth.”

Unique Granite and Marble has been manufacturing custom granite and quartz countertops in Owensboro since 2004, after the company saw a need in the local market and transitioned from home building and remodeling to countertop manufacturing.

FRANKFORT, KY - Agriculture Commissioner James Comer launched two new programs to help Kentucky military veterans find jobs in agriculture and sell their farm products.


Kentucky Proud Jobs for Vets connects veterans looking for work with farmers who need labor. Homegrown by Heroes is a new logo that identifies farm products produced by Kentucky veterans. The programs will operate out of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.

Wrap exposed pipes with insulating material. Pipes under kitchen sinks, in crawl spaces, near windows or in unheated basements are areas susceptible to freezing.
