LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police have arrested three teens caught breaking into Pleasure Ridge Park High School and damaging school property.
Police were called to the school around 3:15 a.m. June 20 on a reported break-in in progress. An arriving officer was involved in a foot chase with three people who jumped over a fence and threw a bag containing spray paint to the ground.
After a few minutes, officers found Kristopher Elder, 18, and two additional teens, ages 15 and 17, hiding in a ditch line near the school.
Jefferson County Public School security officers and LMPD found the teens had broken into one concession stand near the football field and tried to kick in the door of another. A gym door was found propped open with the sweatshirt of one of the suspects.
The spray paint has been used to vandalize school property and fire extinguisher was discharged inside a school bus that had been broken into. The report states bottles of Colt 45 were found on the bus and the school grounds. The trio admitted to drinking the beer.
Elder is being held on three counts of burglary, two counts of criminal mischief, a charge of fleeing from police and theft and tampering with evidence. He is expected to be arraigned June 21, 2012.
