LOUISVILLE, KY - Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) will celebrate the success of 22 seniors who participated in the Education Career Academy at Atherton, Fairdale, and Seneca High Schools on Friday, May 17, 11:30 am to 12:45 p.m., at Spalding University’s Kosair Building, 812 South 2nd Street. Students enrolled in the Education Academy completed a comprehensive curriculum that follows the Kentucky New Teacher Standards for Preparation and Certification and are assessed based on those standards.

JCPS high schools ranked among best in country

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Numerous Jefferson County Public School high schools were recognized for their evenhanded and rigorous efforts to educate students in a recent U.S. News & World Report analysis.

The release ranked JCPS against more than 18,000 high schools across the nation. 11 schools were recognized for test results, college and career readiness nationwide. Within the state of Kentucky, JCPS had four of the top five ranked schools and six of the top ten.

"Our students and staff work tirelessly toward college and career readiness every day. It is rewarding to see that hard work and dedication being recognized nationally," said JCPS Superintendent Donna Hargens. "I am confident that through the strategies outlined in our Strategic Plan: Vision 2015, these schools and others will continue to see improvement in student achievement."
