LOUISVILLE, KY - Crescent Hill UMC is sponsoring a free neighborhood dinner on Thursday, May 9th from 5:30-8:00 p.m. aimed at educating teens and young adults about financial matters. Topics will include budgeting, credit cards, loans, debt and 401k planning. A free taco bar dinner will be provided by the Outreach Team at Crescent Hill UMC. Please call the church office at 896-0396 and register for the presentation and dinner by May 2nd. Space is limited. The dinner is free but it is requested that attendees bring a canned food donation for a local food bank and free will offerings will also be accepted.

Kentuckiana's Kick Off Rally To End Child Abuse On April 9

LOUISVILLE, KY – Kosair Chairites, Family and Children’s Place and several other children’s agencies will come together April 9 to kick off Child Abuse Prevention Month. The kickoff event will take place at Louisville’s Slugger Field and is the first event in a ten-year campaign aimed at ultimately ending abuse in the Commonwealth. The start time for the event is 10:30 a.m.

Scheduled guests who will attend the kickoff event are leaders from local area children’s agencies. They include Dan Fox, CEO of Family and Children’s Place, Jerry Ward, Chairman of the Board of Kosair Charities, and Dr. Melissa Currie, Chief of University of Louisville’s Pediatric Forensic Medicine Department. Kentucky state senator Julie Denton is also expected to attend.
